Hiking at the Möhnesee

With over 200 km of hiking trails, marked hiking routes of varying lengths are right on the doorstep. The Arnsberg Forest Nature Park shows itself in its most beautiful splendor in summer and autumn, while in spring and winter the nature reserves and field paths offer great views and wildlife experiences. Many hiking parking lots are ideal starting points for a circular hike. In Völlinghausen, the wildlife park with native animals and the romantic Kanzelbrücke, while from Günne you can explore the Hevesee & Hevesee nature reserve or take a hike along the Kyrillwald forest in Neuhaus. Each village has its own charm and offers a new perspective.
From Haarstrang, the view falls on the Soest Börde. The old wayside shrines along the field paths are worth admiring and lead to the Kleiberg pasture landscape, which is home to semi-wild horses and aurochs on its extensive grounds. For experienced hikers, the Sauerland-Waldroute from Iserlohn past the Möhne dam to Marsberg offers 240 kilometers of hiking pleasure.
